Children's Liturgy of the Word and our Family Mass Sunday 10:30 a.m. Mass October to June
Children’s Liturgy of the Word is Gospel based instruction for children 4-8 years old during the 10:30 a.m. Sunday Mass at St. Francis de Sales Church. Children's Liturgy of the Word is held from October to June. The children will sing a song, listen to the Gospel reading and participate in a homily/activity appropriate for their age. The children are dismissed from mass prior to the first reading and return during the gift procession. Registration is not required, just send your children out during the dismissal lead by a catechist carrying the Gospel Book. Along with the Children's Liturgy of the Word, our 10:30 a.m. Mass in St. Francis de Sales Church focuses on the family. Families are encouraged to participate in our liturgical ministries. Children are invited by grade levels each week to lead the community in prayer by reading our General Prayer Intentions, bring up the gifts in the gift procession and greet at the door as we gather for Mass. Special family activities are offered on a seasonal basis and information is listed in our parish bulletin.
Each week we encourage families to bring a non-perishable food item to church to place in the Joseph House baskets in the vestibule. It is a great way to teach your children to share what they have with the hungry of the community.
